Meet Donny Kauffman! Donny is the Executive Director of Greer Community Ministries. When you first meet Donny, you quickly learn he Loves God and he Loves people! Donny likes to share hugs and is one of my favorite people to visit. Donny has an up lifting spirit. He is super friendly and the majority of time, he is wearing a great big smile! Having Donny in leadership and in Greer just makes everything better!! We are glad Donny is #hereinGreer!

Please tell us a little bit about your family. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 28 years. We have three boys. Two live here and one lives in Kentucky.
Please tell us about your current business/career. What do you love most about what you do? I love the opportunity to serve God by helping people and leading an organization that is making a difference in the lives of others.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Greer?
A: Hard to choose. SELECT, Merrell’s Pizza, Grand China.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: I have lived in Greer for 15 years.
Q:Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: Patty Cornelius.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Right now I would rather stay in Greer! At some point maybe Ireland or Italy.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Elf.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: People are not an interruption to your day, be aware of who God brings across your path.
Q: What is go-to band or favorite music when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: I like a lot of 80’s stuff.
Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Greer?
A: Dobson Hardware.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you take them for lunch?
A: Francis Chan. Because he seems to truly have the heart of a servant. We would meet for lunch at GCM.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greer?
A: I love how giving this community is. People are very generous both with time and resources.
Q: (Even for friends and family) What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: I tune pianos.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: Just about any lake.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: April. New Year’s. Best day on the calendar: TODAY!
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: People who live out their faith.
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Love, Promise, Family.
